A few years ago, in order to create 3D animations, you had to be very skillful and have a lot of experience in this domain. Not to mention the fact that 3D software cost a fortune and only the most advanced computers could run them. But with the development in today's technology, all these are a thing of the past. That's because modern 3D software is extremely accessible now and allows anyone to create some amazing 3D images using little skills or no skills at all and also using average computers. A good example in this case is the Blender application.

This Windows program allows the user to create some great looking 3D images with great ease and even 3D animations. Because it's a Windows application, it doesn't take long to install and doesn't require much effort for this, as a few clicks are enough to get the program into the system.

After installing and running the application, the user will surely notice the graphical interface which features a lot of buttons or controls. This is why he may need some time to get familiar with all of them. The comprehensive manual is a real help in this case.

Using the menu system, the user can add various objects and shapes to the interface, but he can also create his own shapes and objects with great ease. Every object can be placed anywhere on the screen and can be rotated and moved freely. Besides that, the illumination can also be customized, giving a very realistic and interesting effect to the 3D image. After the 3D image has been created, the user can render it using various quality settings. Having a large resolution set in the program's options may require a faster computer and may take a lot of time, especially if the created image has a lot of objects and it's highly complex.

But Blender does not only generate 3D images, as it can also produce great looking animations. These animations can be easily generated by recording the initial and final position of an object, for example, the arm and fingers of a character. After the animation has been created, the program can generate a regular video file. In case the user wants to reuse or modify his 3D image later on, he can save it as a project file or he can export it to various file types, which are compatible with most 3D modeling software, like 3d studio max or Wavefront.

Pros

It allows adding a wide range of objects and shapes to the interface. Besides that, the illumination settings can be customized. Furthermore, images and also video animations can be generated by the program, using various quality settings.

Cons

The program requires some knowledge and experience in working with 3D modeling software. Besides that, rendering a complex image using a very high resolution requires a very fast computer. Blender allows you to create some amazing 3D images or animations with great ease and extremely fast.
